The shirt is a direct response to a viral moment from late 2025. During an appearance on the Bret Easton Ellis Podcast, legendary director Quentin Tarantino went on a candid rant about actors he doesn't enjoy. While he saved his harshest critiques for Paul Dano, he specifically name-checked Matthew Lillard, stating simply, "I don't care for him."

Lillard, widely beloved for his role as Shaggy Rogers in the live-action Scooby-Doo films, responded with trademark class and sincerity. He admitted the comments "stung" and "f***ing sucked," but he was met with a massive wave of support from fans and peers (including James Gunn and Mike Flanagan).
