Cincinnati Animal CARE

Cincinnati Animal CARE is the new county shelter servicing Cincinnati and Hamilton County. For the first time since the facility was built in the 1960s, the Northside Shelter is under new management and is the exclusive and only county shelter servicing Hamilton County. Cincinnati Animal CARE is the only open admissions shelter for stray dogs in our community, providing stray dog pickup, stray dog housing, and Dog Warden (animal control) services, as well as a robust cat program (Kitty City!), also on premises in Northside.

CARE's vision is to reunite lost companion pets, reduce the stray population, offer opportunities for unwanted animals to be adopted or rescued and provide the public with information and programs for pet ownership in Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
