The Kentucky Colonels were a professional basketball team that played in the‚ American Basketball Association‚ from‚ 1967‚ until 1976, first at the‚ Convention Center, now known as the‚ Gardens, and later at Freedom Hall. The team had the highest winning percentage of any franchise in the league's nine-year history. They won the‚ ABA Championship in 1975. Notable players included,‚ "Lil" Louie Dampier,‚ Wendell Ladner, and‚ Dan Issel. The team played several home games in Cincinnati and briefly though of moving to the Queen City.
