Johnny Bench's Home Plate Restaurant

Johnny Bench's Home Plate Restaurant opened in the mid '70s at the corner of Colerain and Springdale Avenues near Northgate Mall. In 1977, Johnny Bench's Homestretch opened in Florence. Homestretch closed late in 1978, and Home Plate shut down a few months later when Frisch's purchased both locations and reopened them as part of their Prime 'n Maroon chain. The Northgate location was replaced by a TGI Fridays, while the site of the Homestretch in Florence is now an Olive Garden.
