Cincy Shirts has surpassed the $230,000 mark in its mission to raise money for Fiona, the hippopotamus born six weeks premature at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden back in January of 2017.
In February of 2017, Cincy Shirts began selling T-shirts with a cartoon likeness of the hippo, with a portion of each sale going to the zoo and its effort to provide Fiona with the best care possible. The baby hippopotamus, along with Cincy Shirts, as received quite a bit of media attention across the country.
In addition to Tees, Cincy Shirts also sells a variety of Fiona-themed including tumblers, keychains, magnets, stickers, hats, and more.
"We are still floored from the craziness that Fionamania has generated,” says Cincy Shirts co-founder Darin Overholser. “We've had shirts sell well in the past, but nothing has sold this consistently for an entire year. It has not only helped our little company grow, but it has also allowed our printers and local suppliers to reap the benefits as well.”
The latest addition is a Fiona birthday T-shirt which has been released just in time to celebrate her turning 1 on January 24. For a limited time, customers purchasing the shirt will receive free Fiona birthday temporary tattoo.
