Boomerang Bay

Originally called WaterWorks, Kings Island's water park opened in 1989 to compete with Surf Cincinnati and The Beach, the latter being located across and just up I-71. In 2004, it was renamed Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay to better align with the park's theming under the ownership of Paramount Pictures. In 2007, after Cedar Fair assumed control of the park, the name was shortened to just Boomerang Bay. After a major renovation and expansion, the water park as renamed Soak City in 2012.
