Old Cincinnati Ballparks

It’s hard to believe that Great American Ballpark is almost old enough to drink. Indeed, the Reds current home turned 20 this year. The Reds, and a few other area major league teams, have called many stadiums home since 1869. Here’s a brief rundown.

Lincoln Park Grounds/Union Grounds

Built for the Union Cricket Club in 1856, Lincoln Park, also known as Union Park, was located where Union Terminal stands today. In 1866, baseball was introduced at the park, with the sport’s first professional team using the field starting in 1869.

Avenue Grounds

Located in Camp Washington, about a block south of Valley Park, Avenue Grounds, was also known as Brighton Park and Cincinnati Baseball Park. It was the Red Stockings home from 1876 to 1879. That team ceased operations at the end of the 1879 season.

Bank Street Grounds 1881-1883

A new baseball team was formed for the 1880 season called the Stars, but they played their home games at Bank Street Grounds on the site of the old Lincoln Park/Union Grounds. In 1882, a new Red Stockings team, members of the American Association, played at Bank Street Grounds. That Red Stockings team was forced out when the Cincinnati Outlaw Reds of the new Union Association took over the lease.

League Park 1884-1901

The Red Stockings moved a few blocks north and into League Park, at the corner of Western and Findlay, the future site of Crosley Field. That iconic field was two stadiums away, though. League Park was renovated in time for the start of the 1894 season.

Pendleton Park/East End Park

This ballpark, located in the East End where the Schmidt Ball Fields are today, was almost home to the Red Stockings. Shortly after the renovated League Park opened in 1894, a fire destroyed part of the grandstand, and the club thought about moving to Pendleton Park, which was used by the American Association’s Kelly’s Killers a few years earlier. However, its remote location was deemed impractical. The team instead quickly repaired League Park and used it until 1901.

Another fire, this one in 1900, caused catastrophic damage to the League Park grandstand, necessitating an extensive rebuild. The new grandstand was so opulent the team’s owners renamed League Park the Palace of the Fans starting with the 1901 season. On the last day of the 1911 season, disaster struck again as, you may have guessed, a fire destroyed most of the main grandstand.

Redland Field/Crosley Field (1912-1970)

By opening day 1912, the Reds had an entirely new ballpark at Western and Findlay. The new stadium was named Redland Field. It was the third concrete and steel ballpark in the National League and would be the Reds’ home for the next 58 years. It was also home to four Negor league teams, beginning with the Cuban Stars in 1921, followed by the Tigers (1937), the Buckeyes (1942), and the Clowns (1943-45).

In 1934, the stadium’s name was changed to Crosley Field in honor of the team’s new owner, industrial and broadcast magnate Powel Crosley Jr. In 1935, the Reds hosted the first night game in Major League Baseball history.

Riverfront Stadium (1970-2002)

As early as the 1940s, the idea of a ballpark on the river downtown was proposed. The 1948 Master Plan for Cincinnati showed a ballpark just west of the Roebling Suspension bridge. However, the idea didn’t gain traction until the early 1960s when it was rumored the Reds were going to move to New York City.

Parking limitations and other issues had rendered Crosley Field obsolete. A new ballpark was needed, but plans moved slowly. It wasn’t until the opportunity to bring pro football to town emerged that city and state officials took the project seriously. On June 30, 1970, the Reds moved into the sleek, new Riverfront Stadium, a facility they shared with the city’s pro football team, the Bengals

The two teams were roomies for two decades before both started grumbling about wanting their own stadiums. The Bengals wanted to remain on the riverfront. It was proposed by some the Reds’ ballpark be built on the land that is now occupied by the Hard Rock Casino. The riverfront won out for both, though. The Bengals moved into their new crib in 2000, while the Reds played their first game in Great American Ballpark on March 31, 2003.

I am Jimmy Laminger from Montana. One phone call was all it took, and I was scammed out of my meager savings. It all started with a call from someone claiming to be an IRS employee. He told me I owed back taxes and would be arrested if I didn’t pay immediately. I was shocked when he gave me my IRS information and address.
I was instructed to withdraw cash from my bank and deposit it at a Bitcoin ATM near my house. The caller explained the entire process and even told me which machine to use. I panicked and didn’t have time to think clearly. I deposited $16,000 into the ATM and transferred the money to the Bitcoin address I’d been given.
After the transaction, the calls stopped. That’s when I knew something was wrong. I contacted the police and the Bitcoin ATM company, but they said there was nothing they could do; once the money was transferred, it was gone.
I lost all my savings that day. What hurt me most was how real it all felt. They used fear, urgency, and official-sounding language to manipulate me. I want others to know: If someone calls you demanding payment in Bitcoin, it’s a scam, no matter how convincing they sound. Hang up. Confirm your information. Protect yourself.
Amidst all the chaos, I thought my money was lost forever until my neighbor referred me to ICC Recovery Services. At first, I wasn’t sure how they would recover my deposit, but they patiently guided me through the process of tracking transactions on the blockchain and working with the authorities. After a few days, they restored the deposit I had sent to the Bitcoin address. With this turn of events, ICC Recovery Services gave me hope and, more importantly, justice.
If you’ve been scammed like I have, don’t suffer in silence. Report it. And consider contacting ICC. They will help you, just as they helped me when I thought no one could. Contact: ICC Recovery:

Throughout my life, I’ve always been passionate about supporting startups and believed deeply in the transformative power of innovation. I’ve long admired entrepreneurs who take risks to build something meaningful and change the world. So, when I came across an online crowdfunding platform showcasing a promising tech startup, I felt compelled to invest. The startup’s pitch was compelling, with a clear roadmap, a dynamic team, and what appeared to be a viable, innovative product. Convinced by their vision, I decided to invest $47,000. I was genuinely excited about the potential impact of my contribution and thrilled to be part of something groundbreaking. As the months passed, things began to unravel. Initially, I received regular updates from the company, keeping me informed and reassured. But over time, those communications became sporadic and eventually stopped altogether. Concerned, I reached out to the crowdfunding platform for clarification. Unfortunately, their responses were vague and unhelpful, leaving me confused and anxious. Then came the worst possible outcome: both the startup and the platform disappeared entirely. They vanished without a trace. My heart sank as I realized I might have lost my hard-earned savings. The emotional toll was immense. I felt betrayed, overwhelmed, and utterly lost. I spent countless hours researching legal options and trying to understand what had happened, but each path led to more frustration and hopelessness. While browsing online i found Folkwin Expert Recovery review in a desperate attempt to find help. The testimonials on their website sparked a glimmer of hope within me. After a brief but reassuring consultation with their team, I decided to move forward. From the beginning, Folkwin Expert Recovery was empathetic. They immediately took action, clearly understanding the urgency of my situation. They worked tirelessly, keeping me updated and calm throughout the process. Amazingly, after just two intense days, I received news I had almost given up on: they had successfully recovered the full amount of my investment. I was flooded with relief and gratitude. Folkwin Expert Recovery not only returned my money they restored my faith in justice. If you’ve been scammed, don’t give up. Folkwin Expert Recovery might just be your best hope, as they were mine.

I verified this morning that the bitcoins I had in my wallet had been hacked out of my wallet but with the help of Team Redeemed Hacker Pro, everything that was hacked had returned back to my wallet. I wish to spread the word that you can work with the Team Redeemed Hacker Pro (RHP) to get your money back from scammers or any hacking processing/situation. I lost $378,000 in Bitcoin as a result of being hacked, and my wallet and account were disabled due to this. Despite talking to the service line, I was unable to get my hacked funds back, which was an issue for me. I’m a happy woman to have all of my money back in my wallet and in my hands, thanks to the (RHP) team. Team Redeemed Hacker Pro follows through on their commitments and uses sound technology to address the issue. Below is their contact information:

It started with a promise too good to be true an online crypto investment platform that claimed guaranteed returns of 10% a week. The website was sleek, the representatives sounded convincing, and everything looked legitimate. I invested cautiously at first, but as small returns rolled in, I got comfortable. Too comfortable. Over the span of three weeks, I transferred $126,000. Then, just like that, the website disappeared. No more contact. My stomach dropped. I had fallen for a scam. Panic turned into despair until a friend recommended Malice Cyber Recovery. I was skeptical. After all, who helps recover crypto? Isn’t it gone once it’s gone? But from the first moment I contacted them, Malice was different. They didn’t make false promises. Instead, they explained how their cyber team worked alongside blockchain analysts and legal experts to trace and recover stolen digital assets. I handed over the transaction records, wallet addresses, and all communication with the scammers. Within a few days, they had traced the funds through a web of wallets. With the evidence they compiled, they coordinated with crypto exchanges and legal authorities. Weeks passed. Then came the message I’d been hoping for: “We’ve recovered your funds.” Not all of it yet but a staggering $97,000 was already returned to my cold wallet. Malice assured me they were continuing the chase for the remaining amount, and their transparency throughout made me trust the process. Thanks to Malice Cyber Recovery, what I thought was a total loss became a lesson and a story of hope.
