Channel 25

When the FCC began issuing licenses for lower-power TV stations in the early 1990s, Cincinnati was at the forefront of this new type of broadcaster. Elliott block was awarded a license for channel 25, which signed on as W25AI in 1994. The station received a boost in popularity when the fledgling WB Network made Channel 25 its Cincinnati affiliate in 1995. However, it was the station's canon of reruns, as well as personalities like Captain Dave that helped endear it to the hearts of Cincinnati TV viewers. The station lives on today, made even more popular by the digital switch over which allowed the it to add multiple sub-channels, and has been further boosted by the recent cord-cutting trend.
