Cincinnati Est. 1788

The first non-native settlers to the area that would become Cincinnati arrived in 1788. Three communities were created along the Ohio River: Columbia, east of present day downtown, North Bend to the west, and Losantiville across from the mouth of the Licking River. In 1790, Losantivlle was renamed Cincinnati.
