In the heyday of the 90s, ushers seemed more lenient, often turning a blind eye as eager fans seized the chance to upgrade their seats mid-game. For a young fan like myself, it was nothing short of a thrill to find myself suddenly perched in what felt like the best seat in the house, right on the edge of the action.
Those moments spent cheering on the Reds from such vantage points hold a special place in my heart, forever etched in my memory as defining experiences of my love for the game. The sights, sounds, and smells of the ballpark – the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, the scent of hot dogs wafting through the air – all combined to create an atmosphere of pure joy and excitement that I will always cherish.
As I eagerly anticipate the start of the 2024 season, I can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia mingled with anticipation for the memories yet to be made. Whether it's passing on the tradition to my children or simply reliving the thrill of watching the Reds in action, I know that the love for this team and the game of baseball will continue to unite fans old and new for generations to come.
