In the history of Major League Baseball, only five teams have been wire-to-wire World Series Champions. That is, the team was in first place every day of the regular season and, of course, won all postseason series, if applicable, in addition to the Fall Classic. One of those teams was the 1990 Cincinnati Reds.
It was quite a reversal of fortune for the ballclub. The Reds were one of the top teams of the 1970s. They won back-to-back World Series titles in 1975 and 1976 and were known as the Big Red Machine. The early 1980s, though, were spent at, or near, the bottom of the standings. They finally managed to turn things around in 1985 with a second-place finish.
They finished in second place the next three seasons as well, before stumbling in 1989 and finishing fifth with a record of 75 and 87. However, a series of moves during that time helped the Reds, somewhat secretly, build a championship team that would stun the baseball world.
In 1990, Lou Pinella took over as manager after Pete Rose was relieved of his duties in that role. A lockout of the players by the owners pushed the start of the season back one week, meaning the Reds, who traditionally start the entire Major League Baseball season, had Opening Day pushed back to April 17. As such, they started with two series on the road against Houston and Atlanta, respectively. They swept both and won on Opening Day to push their record to 7-0.
Some of the more memorable players from the 1990 team included Todd Benzinger, Barry Larkin, Chris Sabo, Billy Hatcher, Paul O'Neill, and the Nasty Boys. The latter was the trio of relief pitchers Rob Dibble, Norm Charlton, and Randy Myers.
Between them, the Nasty Boys combined for 44 saves (Dibble with 11, Charlton with 2, and Myers with 31). Their nickname came from the lyrics of Janet Jackson’s 1986 hit "Nasty” (US #3). It was also a play on the Detroit Pistons' "Bad Boys" name that was used during that team’s 1989 NBA Championship season.
The 1990 Reds got off to a fast start. They went 41–21 through 62 games. However, they split the remaining 100 games 50–50 to end up with a 91–71 record, still good enough to finish five games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Reds clinched the National League West division on Saturday, September 29 in a rain-shortened, seven-inning 3 to 1 home loss to the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers lost to the Giants the same day, mathematically clinching the division for Cincinnati with four games remaining.
In the League Championship series the Reds faced the Pittsburgh Pirates, led by Barry Bonds, Andy Van Slyke, and Bobby Bonilla. The Reds triumphed in six games, which propelled them to the World Series, where they faced the Oakland A’s, the 1989 World Champions.
The A’s had complied a Major League-best 103-59 record and dispatched the Boston Red Sox in four games in the American League Championship Series. They were heavy favorites to beat the Reds.
In the series, Reds manager Lou Pinella faced his old friend Tony La Russa. The two were once teammates for Tampa’s American Legion Post 248.
The series began on October 16, 1990, at old Riverfront Stadium. The Reds won the first game 7-0. The following night’s contest was much closer, with the Reds coming out on top 5 to 4, as they walked it off in the bottom of the 10th inning. Joe Oliver hit a single down the third base line that drove in Billy Bates.
Game 3 was played Friday night in Oakland. The Reds made easy work of the A’s, winning 8 to 3. Game 4, the following night, was a little closer with the A’s holding a one-run lead through the bottom of the seventh. However, the Reds scored in two in the top of the eighth inning to capture the game and series. It was the fifth, and last, time the Reds won the World Series.

I and my wife had a misunderstanding which led to a huge fight and she left home and returned back to her fathers house. I let my emotions got the best of me and stayed permanently away from her. Things grew worse when she started seeing another man and I never knew about it. I tried fixing the problem and getting her to return back home and she never came back. I later found out all that has been going on and decided to seek help to fix my marriage with her which made me contact Dr Isikolo. Just as expected he worked for me and the problem was fixed and I am reunited with my wife. She returned back home just after 48 hours as promised by Dr Isikolo. I’m forever grateful to Jetwebhackers for their remarkable assistance in recovering the $38,540 I had lost to a crypto scam. This amount was meant to cover my husband’s urgent hospital bills, and I was deceived by a fraudster posing as Agent David, who promised me a return of $380,940 – but it was all a scam. Thanks to Jetwebhackers’ expertise and dedication, I was able to recover not only the initial investment but also the profit I was promised. Their help has been a blessing to my family, and we can now focus on my husband’s recovery without financial stress. I highly recommend Jetwebhackers to anyone who has fallen victim to crypto scams. They are professional, efficient, and compassionate. Thank you, Jetwebhackers, for your exceptional service and support during a difficult time!"CONTACT THEM VIA

I want to use this Medium to say big thanks to the REVENANT CYBER HACKER, My husband and I were scammed by a Bitcoin investment online, we lost about $165,000 to them and they denied us withdrawal requests and gave us all sorts of filthy requests. It was a really hard time for my husband and me because that was all we had and they tricked me into investing the money with a guarantee that I would make a profit from the investment. They took all the money and we did not hear from them anymore. I was the one who involved my husband in this nonsense because he was not in support of this and I had to convince him due to the assurance they gave me, I also saw some people testifying about them which gave me the courage to invest in their platform. All Thanks to the REVENANT CYBER HACKER Who came to our rescue, we can recover all the money we lost. Kudos to REVENANT CYBER HACKER. I paid 10% of the recovered funds to their service charge after I got all my money back. I am grateful to them because I know a lot of people here have been scammed and need help. Contact them on:

ICC RECOVERY SERVICE SAVED MY DAY:
I would have lost all my assets if ICC RECOVERY SERVICE hadn’t stepped in. I opened a case with them when the Ledger Nano X I’ve been using for ages crashed. This happened when I decided to update the Ledger’s firmware and try to move a specific UXTO via coin control and I got an error on the frontend. While at it, the Ledger services were overloaded due to network issues and a retry was my only option later. Just when I got right back at it, I realize all my BTC were rooted to unknown addresses. The mistake I made was, I didn’t specify the UTXO chain prior to network overload and I got burnt severely. I was crestfallen by this mistake for days. While going back and forth, I came across several reviews and recommendations on Google and Yelp and I decided to contact ICC RECOVERY SERVICE and we hit it off immediately. During the diagnostic and reclaim phase, they traced my assets to several CEX wallets and all assets were retrieved after 2 business days eventually. I’m thankful to this prolific team not only for recovering my assets but also for the professionalism they displayed in my desperate times. ICC team were incredibly impressive, professionally tech savvy enough to avert my loss and they kept me updated throughout the process. For timely recovery of lost passwords and seed phrases, hacked wallets and lost funds with fake financial brokers, chatting with ICC RECOVERY SERVICE is the right solution. I highly recommend ICC as a recovery company.

If you’re not familiar with cryptocurrency trading, I strongly advise you to either stay away from it completely or invest very cautiously. I was forced to invest a significant amount of my life savings on a forex platform to increase my profits, but I ultimately lost roughly 95,000 USD to this investment scam. I was not allowed to take my money out after I had invested and made a profit. I sent a letter to customer service, but it was ineffective, so I realized I had been duped. I was fortunate enough to come across a genuine deal retrieval WEB WIZARD after much looking for ways to acquire assistance. I decided to give it a shot and explained my condition to them. they gave me their word that they would help me get my money back. Honestly, they performed a fantastic job, and my money was recovered in my wallet in less than 24 hours without any upfront payment. I appreciate having encountered WEB WIZARD with such exceptional abilities, it’s truly remarkable.
