When Hugh Wilson was given the green light to create a TV show based on WQXI in Atlanta, he wanted a more central setting for the fictitious WKRP. Cincinnati was chosen somewhat at random as it seemed to flow naturally with the call letters.ƒ€š‚ WKRP in Cincinnatiƒ€š‚ went on to become one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time, particularly theƒ€š‚ "Turkeys Away"ƒ€š‚ episode with itsƒ€š‚ famous final line. And while only parts of one episode were shot in the Tristate, the show is forever linked to the Queen City.
