Cincinnati native Aaron Pryor, nickname "The Hawk," made his professional boxing debut on November 11, 1976, knocking out Larry Smith in the second round. He was soon being managed by pizza magnate Buddy LaRosa and went to post a record of 39 wins (for by knockout) against only one loss (to fellow Ohioan Bobby Joe Young). Heƒ€š‚ was inducted into theƒ€š‚ International Boxing Hall Of Fameƒ€š‚ in 1996.
